Celebrating the life of
Agnes Feuger Willoughby
January 27, 1923 - February 28, 2016
Agnes Feuger Willoughby
Agnes Feuger Willoughby, 93, passed quietly at home on Sunday, February 28, 2016 to join her beloved Dan and Her Savior.
Most important to Agnes were her family, her faith and her friends.
A native Savannahian, Agnes was born on January 27, 1923. Early in her life she was a communicant of The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and attended St. Vincent’s Academy. A lover of education, Agnes was the first in her family to earn a college degree. She completed degrees from Armstrong College and the University of Georgia, and a master’s degree from Duke University, where she met the love of her life, Dan Willoughby. She shared her love of books, words, and grammar with her children and grandchildren.
As a member of St. James Catholic Church, Agnes was active in Bible study. With six children, she was always present at St. James for school events, as a parent volunteer, and for numerous parent teacher conferences. Throughout the years, Agnes was a fixture at swim meets, sports competitions, and school performances for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to managing Dan’s medical office, Agnes was active in her community. She was a member and past president of the Daughters of Ireland, and was a member of the Catholic Cemetery Preservation Committee, Savannah Area Republican Women, Savannah Garden Club, and American Red Cross. She could also play a mean game of bridge! Agnes never met a stranger; she was loved by all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Dr. Dan H Willoughby, her brother Charles E. Feuger Jr., sisters Mary F. Simons and Loretta F Hoynes, and nephew Charles E. Feuger III, Agnes is survived by her six children: Michael F. Willoughby (Lisa) of San Francisco CA, Stephen C. Willoughby (Lek) of Comer GA, Patricia B. (Missy) Willoughby of Nashville TN, Barbara W. Goel (Hemant) of Bloomington MN, Dan H. Willoughby Jr (Katherine) of Atlanta, and James P. Willoughby (Melanie) of Savannah; nine grandchildren, Dan, John, Stephanie, Duncan, Forrest, Hart, Anna, Taylor and Blake; nieces, nephews and friends of the family.

We extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Willoughby family during this difficult time while, at the same time, celebrating the long, beautiful life of Mrs. Willoughby. Our Family ties go back to Isle of Hope vs. Mayfair swim meets. Having been her neighbors in Mayfair II for more than a decade, we know her as one of the sweetest most genuine people you could ever meet. For years we have watched in amazement as she was always "on the go"! We should all be so blessed to live life on our own terms as she has. The sorrow will pass and through happy memories she will continue to live in your hearts forever. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Sincerely, Matt, Melissa, Taylor and Chris

Loved Agnes so much. She was the most vibrant, happy and stylish gentile lady. Always dressed to the nines and a smile on her sweet face. We enjoyed our times at the Daughters of Ireland meetings. She will be greatly missed. This year she will once again celebrate St. Patrick's Day with her Love in Heaven. RIP sweet Agnes!
